Thunder Force II is a scrolling shooter, which uses a mixture of top-down and side-view stages. Sword of Vermilion is an action RPG that uses a first-person view during dungeon exploration, but switches to a 2D side-scrolling perspective during combat. Dynamite Headdy is a platformer where the main character can throw his head at enemies, and even change his head as a form of powerup. The player starts out controlling humans, but if they collect enough powerups, they can transform into monstrous hybrids, with unique special abilities.
